Canada Day, June 16th, at the Yerba Buena International Music Festival was a great success. We were graced with clear blue skies and unseasonably warm breezes for this outdoor concert. A large supportive crowd filled the park with their picnic lunches ready to hear the music we were offering on stage. The band was in high spirits, and it showed with the grooves and solos they were delivering - it was an honor to be performing with all of them: Philip Rosco Gallo, piano, Mark Armenta, bass, Marco Diaz, trumpet, Michael Rogers, drums, Joe Lococo, guitar, and, Krista Schluter, backing vocals. The highlight of the show for me was when I noticed a couple in the front row while I was singing "Calm Rivers Flow"; they seemed genuinely touched by the song which I believe inspired the man to reach over and caress his partner's arm. It was then that I felt the love in my music was getting through.
